ASE students are Grade 11 and 12 academic students who come from across the GTA seeking a small and familial learning environment. Students are required by the Ministry of Education to take a minimum of three courses per semester. ASE does not have part-time students, however many students find success by accommodating their outside commitments (health, family, music, sports..) to their ASE schedule.
Because of the ASE educational model, ASE graduates are uniquely prepared to take on the challenge of post-secondary studies because they have learned to take charge of their own education by participating in intensive classes and working independently on homework and independent study units outside of class time. They have learned to communicate with their teachers on an adult basis to discuss issues that arise in their work. Most ASE graduates enter their post-secondary program of choice.
